Our Bistro is open 7 nights a week from 5:30 and caters for everyone from a single diner to group of 200. Our menu focuses on Tasmanian Steak and Seafood and caters to Vegetarian diners.

We have some of the best Chefs around who can be relied on to serve you a sumptuous feast or light snack with equal skill and finesse.

During the day the bistro doubles as a cafe with light snacks to full lunches available as well as coffee and delicious cakes.

The Wharf Hotel takes great pride in sourcing the best local Tasmanian Produce. We use local beef, Nichols free range chicken, locally grown herbs and vegetables and fresh Tasmanian seafood where available.

As a small locally owned business we strongly believe in Tasmania and support local business as much as possible.

We pride ourselves on providing the best of local and interstate talent to perform in either the public bar or the theater.

Almost every Friday and Saturday night will bring either one of our regular entertainers or something special from interstate or internationally.

Regulars include Hobart sensations Sambo and Trev Weaver while more local regulars Kyron Howell, Shay and Scott, Neil Gibson and DJ Hitman are all guaranteed to get your toe tapping. We have hosted acts such as Annie Piper, Stephen Bowtell, Geoff Achison, Novella and The Dirty Love to name a few.

We are committed to the live music scene and plan on bringing more new acts through out the years to come.

The extremely popular 5 bands for 10 bucks also has it’s home in the Wynyard Theatre running approximately every 6 months.
